It’s a race!

August 30th, 2008

I’m tired after a whole day out. I went on a day trip with my sister, parents, uncle and his wife today and just got home about 2½ hours ago.

We went to this antique car race kind of thing, it’s usually nothing I would do but I figured a change would be nice. I have went once before when I was a kid and I liked it then, I hooked up today cause I wanted to something out of the ordinary as I just mentioned.

My dad used to be a firefighter and the fire department that he belonged to had/has this old fire truck. The fire department was cancelled due to lack of funds within the commune but my dad and some of the other firefighters started an organization where they still care for this car and sometimes take to exhibitions and races for antique cars. The firetruck was built in 1934 and was in use from 1935 until 1968 (if I remember the years correctly) and is still in very good condition, it got a Ford v 8 engine and still runs pretty smoothly.

The firetruck

So yeah, today we took this old firetruck to a race. The race is not the type where you’re supposed to be first over the finishing line, you merely just drive this course and answer some questions, the one with the most correct answers wins first prize. You can also win prizes for the car itself, best renovations, best mint condition and such.

At 6 am I woke up by my alarm, I woke up rather confused to why it was ringing and it took me a few seconds to realize why I had set it :-P 7:30 am the firetruck was out of the garage and we’re soon on our way, it was only 7 degrees Celsius outside so I had tons of clothes on me.
When it comes to the firetruck you sit on the side on a bench, there is basically nothing that cover or protect you from the wind meaning that it can get pretty cold in the morning. I’m smart, I wore my raincoat and pants, it protected me from the wind in the best way possible and I didn’t freeze at all on the way there, but then again, I was wearing a knitted hat, gloves, several shirts and thick pants beside the raincoat set :-P

The race itself was nice, the sun was shining so we didn’t need all the extra clothes, the course was about 4 Swedish mile long with 6 stops for questions. Besides the firetruck we went with there was another one, slightly older, there was also a lot of other antique cars, mostly old Volvo’s and VW’s (Volkswagen) but also some old American cars.

The trip out took basically all day and I was back at my parents place around 17:30 pm, before I went home I drove my parents, their dog and my sister to my uncle’s house where they were having dinner. I skipped that part cause I missed my best friend (Lev, of course), if I’m away from Lev that long I feel withdrawal and miss him like crazy.

Anyways, I’m tired and I’m gonna pass out soon. Just wanted to write about my very nice day out before I turn the computer off. Hope everyone else had a good day too :-)

Thoughts late at night

August 29th, 2008

I’m supposed to be sleeping right now I guess, but I can’t. It’s been a rather weird day and there is to much going in my head for me to be able to lay down and sleep.

First of all I wish I get a reply to an e-mail I sent earlier tonight, hopefully the reply will be useful and helpful to this awful situation. Everything about this is always worded in certain ways, to keep it rather secret but I’ll promise that in time the truth will be revealed.

Anyways, had my eyes on this thing that I was looking into buying, maybe even as early as tomorrow when I browsed around the net and saw that a new model will enter the market on the 19th of September. Now I don’t know if I should go with the model I was thinking about or add some money and get the new model. Ah, all these dilemmas…

Other than I have just been thinking a lot lately about what’s the meaning of life and such. To me, there is no meaning of life. I can see that there can be a meaning to the universe as a whole but not for me as one single individual. Don’t worry, this conclusion doesn’t really make more depressed than I am, it’s just the way I see things.
Other than that it’s been a lot of thinking about happiness and what makes me happy. The conclusion here is that material things are nice but in the long run (or even short run :-P ) they don’t make me happy. If someone would ask what makes me happy I sure as hell would never answer something like my computer, designer bags or money.
What makes me happy are Lev, my family and my/our pets. Nice people (like UF, Tulzie and such) also makes me happy, especially when they take the time to read and comment in my blog. I also appreciate nature a lot more than most people, a nice pic (I just saw a real neat one at Sydsvenskan), swimming and having Jackass the dog lick my nose cause he likes when I come to visit him.

Ok, I feel that I’m rambling nonsense that no one besides me will get when reading to so I’ll just finish of with something totally different: I got a 1gb SD-card for 49 kr today, that was a good deal :-)

You’re blocked!

August 28th, 2008

If everything is working as it should then certain people with certain IP’s should from now on be blocked from my site/blog. I’m tired of having people I loathe and don’t want to take part of my life snoop around my domain where I’m supposed to be able to share my life.

Anyways, any brown nosers or other idiots browsing around this site will be blocked as soon as they are discovered, this is my domain and I do whatever I want with it.

Brother Bear

August 27th, 2008

It’s been a nice evening, which is a nice follow up to the great day I have been having :-P

Dinner today was really good too, as always when Lev makes dinner. We had potatoes made in the oven and marinaded qourn fillets/ chicken fillets (first one for me, last one for Lev) We watched Brother Bear during dinner and I like the movie, the funny elks made me laugh several times with their Canadian “aye” all the time :-D lol.

I’m still tired as hell so I’m planning on retiring to the bedroom early tonight, I’m gonna read some in my school book and watch some episodes of Simpsons. First I gotta watch the last part of the PS3 conference from the Leipzig Game Convention that we started watching yesterday, we downloaded them all through the Playstation network.
I liked the parts we already watch, PS3 got a few funny things to announce, for instance, a new version of the PSP is to be released. PSP 3000 is it called and has some new features such as a microphone, more vibrant colors and reduction of screen glare when using the hand held in bright sunlight. Lev already got the two previous version but I know he got a little interested in this new version.
There was a bunch of other funny things that was announced as well but I figured if anyone is interested they probably could check it out on Youtube themselves :-P

Anyways, see ya all tomorrow.

Back in the pool

August 27th, 2008

I’m tired, and wet.

Started the day eating breakfast and packing my bag and then I headed to the public pool here as they opened up their inside pool for the season today. I’ve stated before that I don’t swim in the outside pool, mostly due to Sweden having crappy weather all the time leading to cold water in the pool, which is bad for my joints and stuff. Today they opened the inside pool and I was there to renew my card as soon as I could.
Swimming today was awesome, it felt good cause you move the whole body at once and since there was no one else besides me there it was really quiet and peaceful. I even treated myself to 10 mins in the sauna after I was done swimming the 80 lanes (2 kilometers)

After swimming I went back home and ate some lunch, I basically didn’t have much more time over than to switch clothes and stuff as I was headed for school later
School is school, sometimes it can be boring and sometimes it’s fun. This class is pretty basic and you can figure most of the things out by using common sense (which is not common anymore… to bad) but it’s still nice to engage in some sort of activity other than the usual ones.

I thought that I should be a good girl and bike to school, something that I regret later one when I was headed back. It started raining and once I was home my jacket, hood and pants were soaking wet :-P Not that bad though, it let me slip right into comfy clothes as soon as I got home though :-D
I’m just glad that I borrowed a shoulder bag from Lev today, it kept all my books from getting wet as opposed to a normal backpack (I only have one backpack and I use it for swimming. I have a Hello Kitty one but I’m very careful with it)

Anyways, I’m a bit tired now so I was gonna move away from the computer for a while.

Monkey Man

August 26th, 2008

It’s been a good day even though me head is confused over whether I not I should buy a certain object that I want ;-) I’m also feeling nausea and dizzy all the time basically, but I can live with that.

It’s been a rather efficient day, I’ve assembled the last two shelves I bought, done my homework for tomorrow and managed to eat dinner (homemade burgers, Lev fried mine :-P lol)
Watched a funny episode of The Lone Gunmen today that was about a super intelligent monkey, you can’t go wrong with monkeys :-) I got a bit hooked so now I’m listening to a song that played in the episode, “Monkey Man” by Toots and the Maytals.

The evening is gonna be nice and easy, the only thing I kinda need to do is to go out and check the status of my bike, I suspect that I need to pump some air into the tires in order for it to be useful again. I need the bike tomorrow as I’m starting to swim again and going to school, it’s a waste of money on the gas and bad for environment to drive when it’s rather short distances to the places I’m going. How environmental of me.

Ok, checking the bike now.
Later.

Happy birthday UF!

Yesterday

August 26th, 2008

Yesterday we went to IKEA, my sister and I, as I wrote in the previous entry and we had tons of fun. I bought four shelves and a bunch of other things but my sister didn’t really find much. Funny thing was that when we loaded the car we realized that all the shelves I had bought would not fit in the car unless my sister sat behind me (I was driving) instead of sitting next to me, she didn’t like this at all and was talking about how inferior she felt the whole way home.
Good thing when we came home was that I could drive the car up to our building entry, that saved us a lot of meters to walk with heavy shelves. I just reversed the car up to the door and we had the car unloaded in no time (Lev was very kind helped us out too <3)

After we had unloaded the car we went to my parents house to switch cars, I had my mom’s car and she had mine. Stayed there for about 2 hours talking about everything and nothing before me and my sisters went separate ways, I went home to Lev and she went home to Helsingborg.

When I came home I assembled two of the four shelves before it got to late, after that we watched Simpson’s in the bedroom and then fell asleep early.

I had a really fun day and it was just what I needed, luck has not been on my side lately :-P

Trip to IKEA

August 25th, 2008

It’s a been a long day for me and I would lie if said that I wasn’t tired right now :-P The day started with cleaning until I hooked up with my sister. First we went to my moms job to switch car with her, she got this big Ford Escort (or the ferry as we like to call it) which is perfect for trips to IKEA.

IKEA was both good and bad, good cause I got some of the things I wanted to get and bad cause their selection gets more and more boring for every year. I ended up spending the money I won in the bet with Lev and some additional kronors to that, but it was worth it cause I wanted the stuff I got and I gotta get it sooner or later.

This is what I got today:

Another big black shelf (got another one just some weeks ago)

DVD-shelves! I got three of them, one for Lev’s den cause he needed one for his gaming collection and two for our living room to keep our DVD collection.

Cacti cause they looked kinda cool

A nice big vase

The orange candle

Napkins for my b-day party

My favorite glasses, they’re so good cause they can hold a lot more than the standard glass.

Two black picture frames and three wood colored ones.

New towels for our bathroom

Frying pan

Straws

Plates

Bowl, perfect for popcorn, big salads or anything else.

I think that was about it actually :-)

I’m good

August 25th, 2008

It’s been about 3 hours since I woke up and I have managed to finish cleaning the kitchen, cleaned the hallway, bathroom and vacuumed the living room. I have also managed to eat breakfast, showered and written this blog entry. See, I can be efficient.

However, just talked with my sister on the and as she is on her way I gotta get ready now and make her something to eat. Lol.

Be back later today with info on all the stuff I bought at IKEA today :-)
