E-mail and monkeys

February 11th, 2008

Finally got my e-mail setup properly on the Ubuntu/work computer, had to boot up the slow XP as I’m a slight dumb ass and didn’t remember all the settings.. haha :-P Anyways, I’m now able to check e-mail that I’m receiving, unfortunately as our ISP is run by monkeys, I’m still not able to send out any e-mails from them.
Seriously, this ordeal is starting to get me really angry. I last contacted our ISP on the 28th of January to let them know that we knew what issue was and that we have now taken precautionary actions in order to prevent it from happening again, we also asked if there was a possibility that we would be allowed to send outgoing e-mail (needed badly) again and if not that we in that case need to change ISP. As of today I have not yet received a response (lousy bastards, it is unacceptable) and I decided to call them.
The person on the other side of the line checks the matter up and tells me that according to the records the matter should be resolved (it’s not!) and tells me that they’re gonna check with the abuse department and will call me back once this is done. I’m still waiting for that freaking call….
Horrible, horrible ISP!

Good news ,for us at least, is that the company that we rent our apartment from is planning on installing broadband directly into our apartment. Meaning that we don’t have to deal with ADSL anymore and can just plug the Ethernet chord directly in our place where this will be installed. We might have the possibility to get a 100/100 MB/s line, all for the same price as for the 24/1 MB/s line that we have now. Can’t wait!

Package from USA

February 11th, 2008

How the hell could I forget? I mean seriously…. The other week we received a package from Levs mom over in Texas, USA and it contained some really sweet stuff. I got really happy (like jumping up and down happy) when I saw all the stuff in there, and that there was gifts for me too, so thoughtful.

I got so many things, and it was Hello Kitty stuff! My favorite!

Anyways, got a nice backpack that I love (almost wanted to enroll in school so I can use it every day), a nice purse, two pictures that is framed (going up above my computer desk soon), a thing to put on your traveler bag so it doesn’t get lost and a cat calender that I have next to my computer now. I’m all touched by the nice things, thank you so much if you read this!

Oh yeah, Lev got some very nice things too of course ;-P He got a PS2, Palm Pilot, Peanuts calender and a memory chip. Then there was also two cd’s, one with over a million recipes on it and another one with really nice mosaics art. For more really great mosaics I advise anyone to visit Mosaics by Massaro and you will see great art :-)

Week 7

February 11th, 2008

So, we started a new week now, new week means work but for once I didn’t have a ton to do when logging on (for being a Monday) The weekend has been great with a lot of joking, slacking and watching a lot of stuff.

Yesterday we watched the movie “Evolution” with David Duchovny in it and I have to say that I don’t recommend anyone else to watch it :-P It was one of those “new” movies with teeny actors and crappy dialog, the same shit you hear in all those kind of movie. When are people gonna get it, it ain’t funny!
We started watching “Van Helsing” on like Saturday or so but had to turn it off after like 15-20 minutes because that movie was pure and utter crap, seriously, is it that hard to produce decent movies now a days?
Also watched a third movie this weekend, it wasn’t as bad as the other two but it was not great at all either, the movie was called “World Trade Center” and was as the titled hints about the 9/11 attack on the two world trade center towers. The movie concentrated on victim number 18 and 19 who was rescued from the remains of the of the towers alive, something that I didn’t really feel made a whole movie or went with the theme that they were setting for the movie.

Coming week does not offer that much, at least not that I’m aware of right now. Tuesday (tomorrow) there’s a doctors appointment that we need to attend and then the rest of the week I just have swimming planned in. I also hope for some packages in the mail, we’re awaiting new parts for Lev computer which has decided to play tricks on him and have random parts commit suicide, then there’s a surprise package that might show up this week but more info on that when it actually arrives.
Oh, I also forgot, it’s Valentine’s Day this week, gotta do something about that too of course ;-)
