“The Girl Who Played with Fire”

March 27th, 2009

I spent the reading basically, after a few hours and a little over 400 pages I finished “The Girl Who Played with Fire” by Stieg Larsson (in Swedish for people that really need to know that fact) This is the second book in the “Millennium” trilogy and I gotta say that it was a bit better than the first one.
Tomorrow I plan on picking up the third, and the last book, in the series called “The Air Castle That Was Blown Up”.

Anyways, it’s time for some quality time with my small family now, that means TV in the bedroom with Lev and Little Lev, and the feeding of my girls (RC, Cola and Pepsi)

Good night.

Men Who Hate Women or The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

March 14th, 2009

Can I make a wish? I’m gonna do so anyways.

I wish that it would be summer now, that the weather is really hot and sunny and that I could spend my mornings sitting in a comfy chair reading a good book in the sun.

I did that last year and I liked that a lot, plus, I gotta to read a lot of book too cause I went through about 2 books per week then.

So yeah, I picked up reading again. I go through phases where I read like crazy and then phases when I don’t read at all. Right now I’m reading “Men Who Hate Women” or as it was renamed in English, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson (in Swedish) and after 250 pages the book is finally starting to get a hold of me, you know, where you don’t really wanna put the book down. They apparently made a movie after this book but I’m not sure that I wanna see it, I’ve never encountered a movie that was better than the book.

Anyways, back to reading now.

A Thousands Splendid Suns

November 16th, 2008

Yesterday I spent all day reading basically. I mentioned that I was reading Marley & Me by John Grogan some day ago or so (I think I did) well, I finished that book the other night and yesterday I had to start on a new book. I started on A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and that was such a good book that I didn’t put aside all day and actually finished it yesterday, the same as I started on it. I’ve read the first book by Khaled Hosseini as well, The Kit Runner, and that was a great book too, so a tip for everyone out there that wanna read something good is to pick up one of Khaled Hosseinis books.

I also wanna mention that I liked Marley & Me too, but I think my judgment of the book is a tad influenced by my everlasting love for dogs :-P Still, a very nice story.

I don’t know if there’s gonna be a break in my reading now, I tend to read a couple of books in a short period of time and then a take a long break to start the process all over again. But then again, I have quite a few books that I bought that I haven’t read yet…

Laziness deluxe

I’m hungry but can’t seem to figure out what I want to eat for breakfast :-P

Anyways, I have finished “the Kite Runner” now by Khaled Hosseini, that was a good book in my opinion. I’m about to start my last unread book now, crossing my fingers that my book package will show up soon. If I don’t have a book I will start climbing the walls out of boredom, I promise!

Off with her head!

May 27th, 2008

My head hurts, again. I think that I actually need a new (and expensive) chair to use when I sit in front of the computer, one of those that won’t allow me to sit crocked or to put my legs up. But yeah, as if I had money to that… We’ll see in time, got some plans for this place, we need to get new furnitures for our living room as we barely use it now, a new and comfy couch and a big shelf that can hold all of our DVD’s (we have over 100 of them, and then there’s all the DVD boxes with different TV-shows. Yes, we are collectors) Was browsing around IKEA’s website (I like IKEA, no matter how “Swedish” it may be) earlier and found a shelf that would be perfect, to bad that they didn’t seem to have it in anywhere around here. Maybe for the best, I don’t have much money to spend on furnitures right now, gonna have to save up first for a while. But, in time, in time…

Funny thing how I mentioned all the movies we have, we bought two new ones today when we went grocery shopping. First one was a childhood favorite of mine, “The Flintstones movie“. We watched it earlier and it’s still a decent movie, just as I remembered it from being younger. The other movie we bought was called “Twister“, I haven’t seen it but Lev has and he said that it was pretty ok. When a DVD cost like $5 or something it’s not such a big deal if it’s crappy movie :-P The low prices are the mayor reason for our 100+ collection of DVD’s actually, you can get like 3 DVD’s for around 99 kr ($16) over here which is pretty good.

I’m gonna lay down now and continue to read “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini, a book that turned out to be a lot better than I thought. I’m at the end now, probably just have between 50 to 100 pages left, and as I’m a very fast reader I’ll be done in no time. Got one last book that I haven’t read on my night stand so I’m hoping that the book package that I ordered the other day shows up before I’ve finished the last of my books.
