Ramblings

August 17th, 2009

I can’t sleep so I’m up again. That’s what happens when you accidentially take a nap during the day… I’m so stupid :-P

Anyways, I’ve had a nice evening with Lev. As I mentioned earlier we watched “Anchorman” and I wasn’t surprised that I thought the movie sucked. Everyone seems to love Will Ferrell but I find him extremely overrated and his humor is booooring. I’ve seen a few movies with him and they were all boring so I’m not basing my opinion on just this flick.
After “Anchorman” we relocated to the bedroom and watched “Little Nicky”, an Adam Sandler flick. This movie isn’t great but better than the Will Ferrell on at least. Maybe I shouldn’t say anything since all of Adam Sandler’s new flicks is really bad, and trust me, I think I’ve seen them all even tho I promised not to watch his new stuff anymore. Well, what to do when you wanna watch something new and all new movie seems to be crap?

The Scandinavian Sci Fi, Game and Film Convention 2009

March 28th, 2009

So, me and Lev is home from this years The Scandinavian Sci Fi, Game and Film Convention that occurs in Malmö every year. This year we only spent like an hour there, mostly due to that there it not much to look at, mostly Star Wars merchandise and I’m not into that. It also seemed as there was lesser booths this year than last year. The entrance fee is a tad bit steep I think, for what you get, 100 kr to go in and spend your money ;-) Ok, you can just look at the things that is being sold there but it would be nice if the movie prop area was a bit bigger.
Lev bought me a little ALF figurine though, I love ALF so it was a nice little thing. Lev got a Licker figurine from Resident Evil for himself. Just snapped a few pics on the convention, all of them of the movie props there, figured that’s the stuff that is fun to have pics of.

Movie props from one of the Indiana Jones movie.

Dinosaur egg from Jurassic Park

Clothes from the movie Stargate (not the crappy TV-show)

Terminator 2

And my favorite: an alien from X-files :-) If you didn’t know already from reading this blog, I like x-files a lot and have watched all nine seasons of the shows and the two movies.

Before we got home we stopped in town, I got myself a little plastic box that I’m gonna store my makeup in until I find something better, also got “The Air Castle That Was Blown Up” and then food from Subway before we went home.

Well, I’m gonna get going pretty soon, I’m heading over to mom since my dad and sister comes home from Gran Canaria tonight.

Going to the movies: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

March 22nd, 2009

8 am and I’m up, pretty good for being a Sunday. Today I’m going to the movies with my mom, we’re gonna see “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo“. Our original plans was acutally to see it yesterday but there was no good seats left when we reserved our tickets so we decided to wait another day, I gotta say that was a smart move since yesterday was spent with fever and feeling really bad.

Today I’m hoping to feel better, I’m curing myself with my meds for the pollen and headache pills for any fever that might show up, I really wanna see this movie now and don’t want my body to ruin it for me :P

On the account on my sister and dad, I assume that they got on the right plane and landed safely on Gran Canaria, I figured that they would’ve called if they didn’t.

Let the right one in

February 27th, 2009

Some month ago or so I got a hold of “Let the right one” written by Johan Ajvide Lindqvist and immediately got hooked on the book. When I had finished reading the book I found myself feeling sad over that I had finished it and couldn’t look forward to reading it anymore.
The story really catches you and I really like it, not only because it’s a “weird” story but also because I find the book very well written.

Anyways, today I saw the movie that was made after the book. I was a little nervous cause I didn’t want to see the book butchered and I didn’t want to get as disappointed as I usually do. The movie was pretty good I would say, the filming and environments are well done and the story is followed pretty accurately. The casting was good as well, I think that they found really good actors for both Eli, Oskar and Håkan (lets not forget Håkan)

I gotta say though, the movie is good but it does not compare to the book. If one wants to get the whole story, to get a more intense feeling for the characters they should read the book. But then again, I’ve never encountered a movie that was better than the book it’s based on.

So, to wrap this up, really good movie but even better book. Watch the movie, but read the book first.

The Mist

February 1st, 2009

Let’s recap.

Yesterday I went to Ljungby, my uncle turned 44 and threw a b-day party. It was a nice party and we got really good food (as usual) so it was all fun even though we spent probably 3 hours in the car total going there and home. I was home around 10 PM I figure, spent rest of the night in the bedroom watching King of the Hill with Lev.

Today I woke up with a headache, which has not yet disappeared. Got surprised when I looked out the window as it had snowed, as standard in Skåne the snow barely covers the ground and will probably melt away in a day or so…
Good things that there wasn’t a full blown snow storm or anything as me and Lev had plans to go to a nearby mall. Went to a few stores and Lev just got some xbox360 games, a memory unit or something for the old xbox and the movie “The Mist” on Blu-Ray. We also stocked up on some groceries so we should manage for a couple of days now.

Came home and relaxed for a while. Dinner was home made burgers while watching the movie. The Mist was a lot better than I expected and the ending was great. The movie sure was worth the 129 kronor we spent on it.

Lev is playing some hockey game on the xbox360 now, he wanted to play a match against me but I dunno. I remember the old days playing hockey games on my cousins NES, I sucked then and I probably suck just as bad today.

WALL-E on Blu-Ray, finally

December 12th, 2008

Damn, what a day…

The day started with me and Lev running an errand into town, we needed to show up some grades from way back when Lev took a bunch of computer classes here in Sweden. After that we deserved shopping so we went to a near by mall, I wanted to get WALL-E on Blu-Ray, more chai tea and a chai latte. Guess what? It wasn’t my day… No stores had the movie, Indiska was all out on the chai tea and the line to the coffee shop was too long so I never got my chai latte. Disappointed and grumpy I drove us back home.

When I got home I was feeling really angry with that nothing went they way I wanted and was being all grumpy on my own. I was laying down in the bedroom when Lev came in and said that he had good news, he found the website of a store in the other mall we frequently visits and that they had the movie in. To be on the sure side he even called them and asked if they could put it aside for us. Isn’t that cute or what?
So, back to the car again. We just picked up the movie and got some groceries (I like ICA Maxi stores the best), mainly for me baking saffron buns tomorrow and for dinner.

Dinner was really good, fried potatoes with union, pepper marinated qourn fillet for me, some green pepper sauce and a tomato on the side. Yummy. Watched WALL-E of course while eating.

Once the movie was over I went to my computer to write this entry, half way through I had to take a break and lay down, I was too nauseous. A 15 min break was all I needed and now I’m finishing this post up. Once that’s done I’m gonna turn off my computer for the night and join the bunny in the bedroom, it’s The Drew Carey Show time!

The Dream Team

October 20th, 2008

I ordered this movie Friday and got so happy when it arrived today in the mail, that’s fast handling and shipping CDon!

Ok, the movie I ordered is called The Dream Team and stars Michael Keaton, Peter Boyle and Christopher Llyod. When I was younger we had this movie on a VHS tape and me and my sister loved the movie, we loved it so much that we got royally pissed at our mom when she taped it over with some other crap…
It’s probably been at least 10 years since I have seen this movie, I don’t even know if I like it anymore, but I just felt that I needed to get it. The other week we got a discount code for CDon’s web shop so I took the opportunity to order the movie and today it showed up in the mail.

Right now I just wanna call my sister and hook up with her so I can watch it, unfortunately she is probably still stuck at the emergency room with her bad tummy :-( My baby sister is sick again and nothing seems to help, she got an evil tummy that hurts all the time.

DVD collection

September 8th, 2008

Sorry for the bad pic but it’s hard to work miracles with bad light :-P

We bought 2 shelves some week ago or so for our DVD’s, I never moved the movies back then when I assembled the them cause I wasn’t sure where they were going but today I decided to put them all up.

First, we calculated wrong on how many DVD’s and boxes that we have. We initally bought two shelves for DVD’s and one for Lev’s gaming collection but we ended up needing all three of them for the movies.

Second, we had a lot more stuff then I thought we had, I guess it ads up with all boxes, Blu-Rays and normal DVD’s.

The collection contains so far:
* All 9 seasons of Seinfeld
* All 4 seasons of Futurama
* All 4 seasons of Dinosaurs
* All 5 seasons of Kids In The Hall
* The 6 released seasons of King Of The Hill
* The 3 first seasons of MacGyver (However, my parents borrowed the first season)
* First season of The Simpson’s
* First season of Curb Your Enthusiasm
* the 3 volumes of the Mike Judge Collection of Beavis and Butthead
* 16 Blu-Ray movies
* 7 HD-DVD movies
* 134 “normal” DVD’s (some of them in box sets)

We haven’t bought that many movies lately as we used too, but I guess that a few more will be added to the collection before the year is over :-)

Edit:
I forgot about the DVD-box with all seasons of X-files, it doesn’t fit in the shelves so we have to keep it in another place for now.

Lilo & Stitch

September 4th, 2008

Me and Little Lev just finished watching Lilo & Stitch , I dunno if Little Lev was watching much though, he just seemed to lay flopped on his towel or exploring the bed.

I have actually never seen Lilo & Stitch before, it was a funny story I thought. Had some cliché parts of course, but that is expected when it’s Disney :-)
I spent a bigger part of the movie trying to figure out who did the voice for the character Pleakly, I recognized the voice so badly and then it hit me! It’s Kevin McDonald from Kids in The Hall that does the voice!

Wall-e

September 3rd, 2008

It just started started thundering over here, I hope Little Lev doesn’t get scared by it :-(

Today I watched a movie that I have been wanting to see for several months since I viewed the first trailer: Wall-e. i had high expectations on the movie which is not good cause it always ends up with me being disappointed. The movie was ok, but unfortunately not as great I hoped for. I would still see it again and hopefully then on Blu-Ray, but I gotta wait a few months for that. At least it wasn’t as bad as Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda was a big disappointment to me actually, I had thought that it would at least be a decent movie but when I saw it I was just filled with confusion and disappointment. The story of that movie was incredible weak, not to mention voice actors such as Lucy Liu and Jack Black, “actors” who I can’t stand usually.

I don’t know what else is coming out this year in form of animated movies but I’ll be sure not to get my hopes up for it at least :-P Why can’t they make nice and good movies such as Monsters Inc and Toy Story (even the sequel is good!) anymore?
